John’s Plan
John is proud of the many successes in our schools during his service as a Board member, which continue to keep Hammonton as one of the most sought after educational communities in South Jersey. But there is still more work to be done. John has three key goals for his next term which will continue to drive innovation in education, support our students and ensure education costs remain stable in our community.
First, the Board must continue its investment in early childhood education by completing the planned expansion of the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). The ECEC expansion will deliver needed classroom space, and ensure that all Hammonton children will have access to full day education starting at age 4. Providing this opportunity not only reduces costly day-care expenses for parents but also places our students on a firm academic footing as they begin their time in school.
Second, John believes that a continued investment in recreation and our school facilities is critical. That’s why John is leading the installation of Hammonton’s first turf field, located at Hammonton High School, which will support boys/girls soccer and field hockey. Over and above the current effort John believes strongly that the Board should design and build a Field House / workout facility for our female student athletes, a need that has been neglected far too long.
Finally, John is proud of the Board’s commitment to conservative spending over the past several years. As current chair of the Board finance committee John will continue to advocate for a balance of smart spending, efficiency and tax increases only when needed.
